The class master, Mr.Tay, is a kindly old man. He prepared the class photo for Hangyu and me the first day we met. He wishes us to immerse ourselves in his lessons. As a result, he usually translate every sentence for Hangyu and me when he's speaking, while actually we don't want the translation even through sometimes we just get the general points. He asked my opinion about one question yesterday and allowed me to speak in Chinese. I answered in English and he was amazed about that. He came to ask me do I speak English with my family. -_- #
Sometimes I understand them but just not quick in mind to organise my sentences to answer. Thus some of them thought it would be better to speak Chinese with us. I should have spoken in English more although they wished to practise Chinese. Today I suggest Clair speaking Chinese to me while I speaking English to her. Let's make a progress together!

I'm extremely surprised about what I have seen in the JC. I used to consider it easy to study well in Singapore. Whereas, the things they study are not as simple as I can imagine. Teachers focus on score as well for they emphasize on how to get the full mark in every lesson. Students move to different classrooms. I originally think it interesting, however, after rushing into various places yesterday, I found it lucky for Chinese students to have almost all the lessons in one classroom.
I'm also encouraged by the fact that local students also can't understand all the words in the reading materials! Clair told me that she has about 10 or 15 words unfamiliar in the passage, and for me, 50 is not a that terrible number now! Language learning is just like this, vocabulary-building is along the whole journey.
